  • Hahnemann Hospital Bankruptcy Threatens To Leave New Residents Facing Massive Malpractice Liabilities
A plan to find new work for about 570 resident physicians that will be stranded by Hahnemann University Hospital's bankruptcy has come under fire for leaving its residents potentially uninsured, according to Bloomberg. Hahnemann University Hospital, in Philadelphia, filed for bankruptcy in July and began shutting down at the same time that hundreds of doctors were beginning their residencies. Now, the plan to move those doctors has been criticized by both medical education groups and the US government. Hahnemann came up with a plan to sell its residency program to Tower Health, an operator of other hospitals in the region. The program could wind up being auctioned off if competing offers come in, with plans for an auction to be held this week and the results to later be presented to a judge in bankruptcy court in Delaware.

  • We’re All Enemies Of The State: Draconian Laws, Precrime & The Surveillance State
Authored by John Whitehead via The Rutherford Institute, “The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary.” - H.L. Mencken We’ve been down this road many times before. If the government is consistent about any one thing, it is this: it has an unnerving tendency to exploit crises and use them as opportunities for power grabs under the guise of national security. As David C. Unger, a foreign affairs editorial writer for the New York Times, explains, “Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness have given way to permanent crisis management: to policing the planet and fighting preventative wars of ideological containment, usually on terrain chosen by, and favorable to, our enemies. • Top-5 Crypto Tokens Pronounced ‘Dead’ — NEM and BCC Head the List
The rise and fall of “dead” сoins — the top-five most famous coins that didn’t survive and why... In 2017, the cost of Bitcoin (BTC) reached almost $20,000, and in December 2018, its rate fell to $3,187 per token. Nevertheless, it is a solid price movement for a currency, which was created from nothing about 10 years ago. Bitcoin still dominates the portfolios of most crypto investors and is by far the most popular cryptocurrency, meaning its price is less prone to drops than the rest of the market. This is also indicated by the CoinMarketCap dominance chart. But what about the rest of the cryptocurrencies that have appeared over the past couple of years? In 2018, CNBC reported that approximately 800 cryptocurrencies, which appeared as a result of initial coin offering (ICO), can now be called "dead," because they are ...

Singapore to Exempt Bitcoin from Goods and Services Tax Several countries, such as Japan and Switzerland, are already taking action to boost the growth of their crypto industry. • With Friends Like Turkey, Who Needs Enemies?
Authored by Richard Miniter via HumanEvents.com, Turkey, America’s erstwhile NATO ally, is now arming America’s enemies in Libya, a flagrant violation of the 2011 United Nations arms embargo. The clearest evidence of Turkey’s violation of U.N. embargoes came in the hold of a Turkish-crewed ship named “Amazon.” It delivered some 20 Turkish-made armored vehicles, known as “MRAPs,” the military news website South Front reported. A local blogger photographed the armored vehicles on the dock. Turkey supports Libya’s Government of National Accord holed up in Tripoli. Qatar and, seemingly, Iran also back it. If it prevails, its government will impose Sharia law, corrupt the press, socialize the economy, and open a safe haven for terrorists.
